Be generous
My great-granddaughter, 5 years old, pays attention to the world around her.  She knows many people do not have their own homes.

Good coverage
I do appreciate the coverage regarding the Aug. 22 protests of Planned Parenthood, but I object to the term ‘’healthcare’’ applied to Planned Parenthood and was really surprised that the Springfield organizer wants PP to be able to carry carry on with its other services.

In name only

We have rested on our laurels and allowed people into positions in our statehouses, government institutions and courthouses who are nominal Christians. They know just enough about Christianity to be dangerous. They are not effective Christians or simply do not care.

Weighs heavily
The impact of this year’s Supreme Court decision on marriage weighs heavily on all citizens but primarily on Catholics.

Holy music
Make sure you’ve got religious/worship songs on your device.

Study for that?
A good woman and a good man are a better balance for children than two of the same sex. How about a new study for that?

Never forgotten
He is one man I have never forgotten over these many years.

Not impeded
The fear mongering in the editorial “Penalized for belief” (July 17) deeply saddens me.

No language mandate
Mandating the cultural incorporation of a second language so easily becomes polarizing, creating division. Just take a look at Quebec.

Get educated
We must educate ourselves to turn away from racism.

What's next?
The Supreme Court brushed aside the democratic debate rights of all 50 states to invent a new “right,” exploding the definition of marriage.

Planned Parenthood isn't the only abortion source
Planned Parenthood is by no means the only organization, nor even the only tax-supported organization, where these activities are taking place.

Tax cuts wise
In 1961, President Kennedy saw that Great Britain and France had cut taxes and their nations’ economies were outpacing the U.S.  For several years, Kennedy argued that the high tax rate was a drag on economic growth.

Preach vocations
St. Bernard once preached, “In religious life one lives more purely, falls more rarely, recovers more promptly, advances more surely, receives more graces, reposes more serenely, dies more calmly, is cleansed more quickly and in Heaven receives a greater reward.”

Preach for vocations, too
Pray for vocations-fine. Also preach, please!
