Bible says no to tattoos

To the Catholic Sentinel:

Regarding this business of wearing tattoos. In the Old Testament, it states: “You shall not make any gashes in your flesh for the dead or tattoo any marks upon you. I am the Lord.”

Taken from the New Revised Standard Version Bible 1993 edition. Deacon Owen Cummings might like to know this.

Am I the only Sentinel reader who is tired of this meaningless topic? Does the writer of this Letter and similar writers before her also follow every other dictate of Judaic law from Leviticus? We are New Testament people, aren't we?
