To the Catholic Sentinel:
In the last issue of the Catholic Sentinel, there was a news report that stated that Massachusetts’ school and union officials voted to treat April 3, 2015, as a regular school day.
I remember when even banks were closed from noon to 3 p.m. on Good Friday. How times have changed! Many residents in Massachusetts are not happy about this. They consider this a sacred day. If they cannot get this changed, I suggest taking the children out of school that day since it is sacred and special to them, as I believe it should be to all Christians.
If enough parents do this it could send an important message to the powers that be and others.
