Inmate grateful for Sentinel, Archbishop's ministry

Archbishop Sample says prison Mass.
To the Catholic Sentinel:
Thank you for sending me the free copy of the Sentinel. As an Oregon prisoner, I welcome the twice monthly newspaper at mail call. I will shamefully admit to solving the sudoku puzzle before reading the articles. When I finish with the newspaper, I place it on the magazine shelf on my cell block so that others might also read.
And thank you, Archbishop Sample, for visiting institutions like Oregon State Prison and Santiam Correctional to celebrate Mass with inmates. The Feb. 21 photo of the archbishop blessing an inmate reminded me of the parable of the lost sheep, “will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?” (Mt. 18:12), and the parable of the sheep and goats, “I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Mt. 25:36)
