Letter writer wants philosophy like that put forward by St. Thomas Aquinas to have greater prominence again in Church.
To the Catholic Sentinel:
Many articles and letters have referenced the “New Evangelization” for the Church. Such efforts can be promoted in one of two ways: By downplaying traditional teachings to be more accessible to a secular, modern mindset, or by emphasizing traditional teachings to clearly “stand apart” from worldliness.
Option one is doomed because it does not provide a sufficiently compelling contrast to cause others to take the bold and difficult step of conversion or reversion.
