Planned Parenthood should not be in our schools
|Planned Parenthood bus sign.|
To the Catholic Sentinel:
Planned Parenthood shouldn’t teach in our schools. For me, this has everything to do with religion.
I am not asking educators to teach my religion to the children who attend the Salem-Keizer public schools. That is not their job and our families and churches can do it much better. However, I must insist that the schools stop teaching things that are in direct opposition to my religion.
My religion says that premarital sex is wrong, a sin. Planned Parenthood teaches that it is perfectly OK. My religion says using contraceptives is wrong, a sin. Planned Parenthood gives out free condoms. Planned Parenthood teaches that if the condom doesn’t work and a girl gets pregnant, she can come by and get an abortion. This, according to my religion, is the same thing as murder, a grave sin.
Again, I strongly object to the schools using my tax money to teach something that is in direct opposition to my religion.
