To the Catholic Sentinel:

I watched the school bus fire on KOIN-TV news. Of the stories I reviewed the next morning the Oregonian’s was the most thorough. KOIN’s coverage appeared to show the team/coaches were relatively close to the bus fire and one lane of traffic appeared to be closed. Was there a danger of explosion that might have harmed the team/coaches and the traffic due to their proximity?

Why did not the team/coaches move (on foot? by another bus?) away from the scene, instead of staying by the side of the highway?

Many of the players walked to the Multnomah Athletic Club? What happened to the other players? Coaches? How did they get back either to their high school and/or their homes?

Most players were wearing gold-colored football pants and T-shirts. Is gold one of the high school’s colors? If so, without that information knowing the pants color seems immaterial.

What happened to the football equipment and other items presumably left on the bus?
