Did Archdiocese inform parishes about St. Joseph in prayer?
St. Joseph
St. Joseph

To the Catholic Sentinel:

Did the Portland Archdiocese inform all parishes that St. Joseph is to be included in the Eucharistic prayers?

James Fitzgerald, Waldport

The answer is yes. The Vatican asked that the name of Saint Joseph be inserted into the texts of Eucharistic Prayers II, III, and IV of the Roman Missal. Blessed John XXIII had ordered the insertion of the saint’s name into Eucharistic Prayer I. Pope Benedict approved the move to insert the name into the other principal Eucharistic Prayers. The decision was left to Pope Francis  to implement.
