Sister Jeremy Gallet is a treasure our Portland Archdiocese has had for over 10 years. Her many skills are put into use not only with large archdiocesan events, but also of assistance to parish-level musicians. She not only understands the intricacies of liturgical rubrics; she can adroitly advise on hymn selections to honor feasts or cultural backgrounds.
Under her guidance, the Office of Worship has been made available to assist priests, liturgists and musicians. These people can sometimes be considered a handful to both understand and to work with. She successfully negotiates their varied interests and concerns.
Ed Langlois’ article about Sister Jeremy’s 50th anniversary as a Providence nun was well done, and I am grateful to add my voice to others in acknowledging her gifts and time spent in service of the church.
