An Arkansas nun holds drawing by repentant Texas death row inmate.
To the Catholic Sentinel:
“The Texas Catholic Conference was ‘disappointed that the disruptions in the Senate chamber’ prevented state lawmakers from passing a strict abortion law before a midnight deadline June 25.”
The “disruptions” were from women and their supporters.
That the Texas Catholic Conference made no comment about the 500th state-sanctioned execution, a national record, calls into question the “pro-lifer” claim. “Anti-abortionist” is more accurate and honest.
As a second generation native-born Texan of Mexican descent, I have experienced the white male dominance that permeates the Lone Star State. The good ol’ boys are rallying. I cannot support the myopic, misogynist and misleading stance of the Texas Catholic Conference.
