To the Catholic Sentinel:

I noted with dismay the letter by Dean Kenyon in the June 7-20 issue. He claims that new scientific evidence refutes evolution.

I am grateful that our recent Holy Fathers have noted that evolutionary biology is well confirmed science and does not conflict with biblical theology or church doctrine.

The ongoing work of many scientists continues to confirm evolutionary biology.
The letter writer is (or was) a leader of the Discovery Institute, an anti-evolutionary marketing firm, which purports to be a research institute.

Very few of the purported dissenters are Catholic.

As Mr. Kenyon stated, the Pontifical Academy of Science agrees with most scientists that evolutionary biology is well supported.

Like the “Galileo was Wrong” Catholic geocentrists, the Kolbe Center is a fringe group without scientific credibility and without Church doctrinal support.
