Voters in Boston look over information on ballot questions while waiting at a polling place last fall. Massachusetts voters voters narrowly defeated a "death with dignity" measure, rejecting attempts to legalize assisted suicide.

To the Catholic Sentinel:

Rolando Rodriguez writes, “Protection of pre-birth and end-of-life rights has vastly improved.” There has never been a bigger battle between the forces seeking to protect life and those who seeking to destroy it. More states are actively pursuing assisted-suicide than ever before. Abortion oversight by government and the medical community continues to degrade.

Several states have loosened standards and a number of morally corrupt laws are being pushed with big money behind them, actively promoting abortion in our nation and beyond. Rodriguez also errs in balancing all the moral evils of our day as equal. This is not what the Church teaches. His statements of life issues are not fact. They are misleading, untrue, and insupportable obfuscations.
