We can't oppose orientation
Catholic News Service
Jesuit Father Michael Zampelli celebrates a Saturday vigil Mass for gays and lesbians at St. Martin of Tours Parish in San Jose, Calif.
To the Catholic Sentinel:
Having just read the Sentinel’s article on marriage, I want to remind Catholics about respect for gays, even though our religion officially opposes gay marriage.
My grandson who is gay, tried to “pray away the gay” and so did everyone else in the family. He is still gay. When I see my other grandchildren fall in love and marry, I am happy for them but I can’t help but feel sad for my grandson.
