To the Catholic Sentinel:

Michael McDermott says he is saddened by the Catholic vote. “Where is the outrage over the decay of our morals and ideals?” he asks, focusing on “abortion, contraception and euthanasia.”

What about women’s rights, civil rights, minority rights? And the proliferation of weapons, remote-control war, climate change, voter suppression? Protection of pre-birth and end-of-life rights has vastly improved.

It’s the “in-between” life that is under attack. Perhaps widening the perspective to the entire Mystical Body of Christ would lessen the need for outrage.
