To the Catholic Sentinel:

Guns for schools is an example of the adage that two wrongs do not make a right. Guard dogs would be better. The Catholic grade school I went to had a big yellow mutt who belonged to some neighbor near the school. Every day he was on the school grounds. Sandy loved us as we loved him.

When we were in class and a stranger came to our school, or even walked by, the dog would bark to alert the nuns who would quickly look out the windows.

Dogs can be trained for protection. Consider dogs protecting our children with a two-way love.
