We spend too much on sports that are too dangerous

To the Catholic Sentinel:

Regarding football and other sports that kill, I just know God is shaking his head, asking “What are you people doing?”

Men are getting killed, maimed or injured playing this sport. Opposing team members take money (bribes) to injure players on purpose.

Then there is the money spent on players’ salaries and the stadiums.
Jesus is saying: Remember the poor, hungry, homeless. The money spent on sports that injure or kill (hockey, boxing, etc.) would be better spent on the poor. The Roman Empire had its Colosseum; the empire is no more.
