To the Catholic Sentinel:
The head of the federal Department of Health and Human Services last month issued a regulatory order that sets up inter-state insurance groups to enforce national healthcare. Each insurance policyholder will be billed $1 per month to pay for abortions of needy women.
This regulatory measure was passed the day of the primaries of Alabama and Mississippi when voters chose Rick Santorum for the Republican nomination.
By passing it on a big news day, what should have been a major story was buried by the other news organizations. One dollar per policyholder per month: a regulatory tax on insurance for paying for abortions. This is an implementation of the president’s position.
