Don't kill horses

To the Catholic Sentinel:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s approval of a horse-slaughtering operation the same week Americans celebrated our freedom is a cruel juxtaposition indeed.

The quintessential symbols of our American West may soon be on the receiving end of a captive-bolt gun so that their flesh can be sold to other countries for human consumption.

Killing horses anywhere is a bloody, violent business. Killing horses must be banned.

Ask your representative to ban the slaughter of horses. Let’s end the slaughter of American horses for human consumption.
