De La Salle Women’s basketball didn’t win as many games as they would liked in 2012, but had great improvement during the season.

During the 2013 season, the team will be led by senior guards Aisha Williams and DeNia Goodman and senior post player Cortnee Grice, along with returning starter Khadija Bruce.

“We look forward to being better than last year,” coach Harold Ridge said.

Eight varsity players return from last year’s inaugural season under Ridge’s tutelage.

“Our coaching staff is very excited about the young talent that came to the team for this season,” he said.  “We will be young but we have a group of young ladies committed to the program, and our seniors are already showing great leadership.

We expect to make a great run to the state playoffs this season.”
