The University of Portland men’s cross country team moved up one spot and is now ranked No. 5 nationally by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Pilots are the top ranked team in the West Region.
Portland had a strong showing as host of the 2012 West Coast Conference Preview, winning the six-team meet handily as four Pilots finished among the top seven individually. Sophomore Scott Fauble won the meet and Portland’s five scoring runners finished among the top 11 from a field of 83.
