Catholic Sentinel seeks senior editor

The Catholic Sentinel newspaper is searching for a new senior editor. Below are the job listing details from our parent organization, OCP:

OCP seeks a highly motivated and experienced person to lead the Sentinel and El Centinela team and set the forward-looking direction and tone of the newspapers and websites, along with the annual statewide Catholic Directory. The Senior Editor is responsible for everything that is printed in the newspapers and put up on the websites and social media portals. The message is guided by the Archbishop and his key staff. The purpose is to provide important and interesting information to readers covering events and topics that are relevant in the local, regional, and national church. The Senior Editor will have oversight of all news stories, advertisements, photographs, editorials and opinion pieces; ensuring that they are high-quality, professional, objective, balanced and thought-provoking.

The award-winning Catholic Sentinel is the oldest Catholic newspaper on the West Coast. Established in 1870, it has long played a vital and bolstering role for the Catholic community.  The Catholic Sentinel is the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Portland.  It is published online and twice monthly in print by OCP - a leading international, faith-based music publisher and intellectual property rights management company. OCP also publishes El Centinela, a monthly Spanish-language paper.

Located in Portland, Oregon – heart of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, OCP offers an excellent work environment with great work/life balance and easy access to public transportation. We offer a generous wage and outstanding benefits package (including top-tier medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, holidays, and disability leave, retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, and more).  OCP is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
