Father Michael Patrick, pastor of St. Wenceslaus Pairsh in Scappoose, appeared Friday in Clark County, Washington, superior court. He was arrested and later extradited to Vancouver after stepping off a plane from Australia at Los Angeles International Airport. Authorities made the arrest based on a warrant issued in Vancouver.
He is charged with attempting to lure a 14-year-old girl into his car in Vancouver, where he keeps a residence. In Washington, luring anyone younger than 16 into a car without consent of the minor’s parent is a felony.
The judge ordered the priest from Sri Lanka to check into Clark County Jail’s supervised-release program. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 6.
