Portland's Blanchet House of Hospitality has added two new members to the board of directors. Emily Harrington and Katie Hennessey join the 61-year-old organization, which feeds the hungry and provides shelter to Portlanders who are homeless.

Harrington, a nurse practitioner, attended Central Catholic High School and later completed bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at the University of Portland. She has worked in the local Providence medical centers as well as at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Harrington has provided care to patients in women’s health, family practice, orthopedics, cardiology and cardiac transplant. She currently volunteers at Clackamas Volunteers in Medicine. She and husband Joey have two young sons and are members of All Saints Parish in Northeast Portland.

Hennessy is a licensed social worker at Oregon Health and Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute. She is a graduate of Gonzaga University, as well as the Graduate School of Social Work at Portland State University. She has worked in social services since 1980 and is a member of St. Ignatius Parish in Southeast Portland. Hennessy's prior volunteer board and council commitments include Catholic Charities and Camp Starlight. She is married to Tim Hennessy.

Kim Lusk and Laurie Kelley are stepping down from the Blanchet board to join the emeritus board. Lusk, a Portland attorney, has served on the board for almost 15 years, the last 10 as secretary. Kelley, a University of Portland vice president, has served on the board for six years, serving as development chair during a recent building campaign.
