A youth movement focused on bringing pro-life and chastity messages to peers will introduce itself to Oregon at an event set for 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, in the parish center at St. Mary Parish in Mount Angel, 575 E College St.
Chad Etzel, a Generation Life missionary from Tigard, is working to bring the ministry to the Archdiocese of Portland. After some time in the sports operations world, Etzel found what he calls "a more exciting career path in Christian ministry."
He recently finished a year as a full- time Newman Center missionary at his alma mater, Oregon State University.
Helping give the talk on human dignity and Generation Life will be another Generation Life missionary, Chanelle Leonhardt. Raised outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico, she has been a nanny in Dublin and has lived in Kenya, New York and Portland. Leonhardt this summer walked the Camino of St. James in Spain. She says her main message is that chastity offers freedom to truly live and love.
