Marriage Encounter is seeking long-wed couples.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter is seeking applicants for its 2014 “Longest Married Couples” contest.
Last year’s winners in Oregon, Willis and Iola Hinkle of Mount Angel, had been married 77 years. Each state has a winning couple. The 2012 national winners John and Ann Betar of Fairfield, Conn., were married for 80 years.
There have been over 900 couples nominated for the honors during the last three years. Winners are selected solely from nominations submitted. Winners are announced during Valentine’s Day week.
Nominations are open to all husband and wife couples regardless of religious affiliation. Nominations simply require the name of the couple, their wedding date and where they currently reside, plus a contact phone or email address of the individual nominating the couple.
They can be emailed to [email protected], mailed to Dick and Diane Baumbach 8934 Puerto Del Rio Drive Suite 204, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920, or called in to 321-613-5180. Nominations must be received by Jan. 10, 2014.
