'Breath of Life' is theme for earth care summit
Interfaith Network for Earth Concerns, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, will hold its fifth annual Earth Care Summit. With the theme “Breath of Life: Earth’s Atmosphere,” the focus will be clean air and a stable climate in the context of faith and spiritual practice.
The session is set for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at First Christian Church, 1314 SW Park Ave. in Portland.
Speakers will include Oregon State Treasurer Ted Wheeler and Bob Doppelt, coordinator of the Climate Ethics Campaign and executive director of Resource Innovation Group. Congregations, individuals and communities can learn practical and local actions.
There will also be a pre-event reception, “A Taste of Earth Care: Wineries, Land Use and the Columbia Gorge,” at the Oregon Historical Society at 4 p.m.
