MEDFORD — Michael Morgan of Sacred Heart Parish here was the winner of the iPad Mini the Catholic Sentinel gave at random to one reader who filled out an online survey.
Morgan is a software developer. He and his wife of 11 years — married at St. Francis Church in Sherwood — have a 14-month-old child.
"The secular media do a fine job telling us how much evil is in the world," Morgan says. "I think Catholic media need to be a showcase of God's grace and good deeds within the world, without glossing over important introspection on the Catholic Church."
Morgan, newsletter and website editor for the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Medford, says the Catholic Sentinel does an "excellent" job giving information on events in the Archdiocese of Portland and the larger Catholic Church.
"This is the type of publication that every diocese needs in order to better inform, educate, and motivate every parishioner," he explains.
In his survey, Morgan said, "If I have to question the credibility and integrity of the Catholic Sentinel, then all journalism is lost."
