CEO announced for Seaside hospital
SEASIDE — Providence Health and Services has named Michael Blauer as chief executive of Providence Seaside Hospital. On April 1, he replaces Krista Farnham, who accepted the chief operations officer position at Providence Portland Medical Center in November.
Blauer says he is honored to serve in a "value-based organization that serves the poor through compassionate service." He says he and his wife are looking forward to being involved in the community.
Before coming to Providence Seaside Hospital, Blauer served as chief executive of Morrow County Health District in Heppner. There, he oversaw a hospital, two rural health clinics, home health and hospice and emergency room and an assisted living residence. He introduced remote care with experts on television screens.
“Michael’s personal values are well aligned with our mission and core values,” said Janice Burger, chief executive for Providence Oregon’s west division.
Blauer grew up in Idaho and attended Idaho State University. He later attended University of Michigan where he earned a master’s in health services administration.
Blauer will begin serving in Seaside on April 1.
