Workshop will offer strategies against hunger
|Catholic Charities will host session on hunger.|
The Archdiocese of Portland's Office of Life, Justice and Peace sponsors a workshop Saturday, Jan. 12, on federal, state and regional legislation affecting hunger. The session runs 9 a.m.-noon at the Catholic Charities building, 2740 SE Powell Blvd.
On Jan. 20, 2013 a new Congress will begin work on budgets, deficit reduction and a farm bill. On Feb. 4, the Oregon Legislature convenes to focus on local budget concerns: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the Earned Income Tax Credit.
The Jan. 12 workshop aims to show participants ways to advocate for anti-hunger policy and practice.
