Teacher suspended for a day for pro-life actions
Bill Diss, the Catholic teacher at Benson High School who has led a movement against Planned Parenthood, was suspended for a day by Portland Public Schools officials.
Diss, who served his suspension Oct. 22, opposes abortion and Planned Parenthood-provided sex education. He says the abortion provider inherently promotes promiscuity, which ruins young lives.
When Planned Parenthood workers entered his classroom to begin recruiting teens for a life choices club, Diss asked the workers to leave. He was later forced to allow the recruitment to go on and the district has allowed Planned Parenthood staff to monitor him.
The reason given for suspension was insubordination.
