The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is now accepting pre-applications for the 2013-2014 funding cycle. A grants workshop for applicants is set for 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Archdiocese of Portland Pastoral Center, 2838 E. Burnside Street in Portland). Anyone can attend.

Matt Cato, director of the archdiocese's Office of Life, Justice and Peace will have just returned from a national meeting on the campaign and will have practical suggestions.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the U.S. bishop's anti-poverty effort, meant to enhance human life and dignity. An annual parish collection for the campaign is set for the weekend before Thanksgiving.
