ACCW district meets
|Fr. Robert Krueger|
Father Robert Krueger presided at a Mass when District 5/6 of The Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women met Sept. 10 at St. Henry Parish in Gresham. Father Kruger spoke of the positive trends in current Jewish-Catholic relations and encouraged his listeners to pray for continuation of the advances.
Joan Towner, the council president, conducted the meeting and it included a discussion of Water for Life and Cross International, two charities the women's group supports.
Members then thanked Joan Galles for volunteering to fill the position of Province Director. Galles has also accepted appointment to another national office, chair of The Resolutions Committee. All members took home a list of names of priests from the archdiocese to pray for, especially on designated dates. This is a tradition of ACCW and will be maintained.
The next meeting of District 5/6 is Nov. 12 at St. Therese Parish in Portland. All Catholic women and their guests are welcome and are invited to bring clothes donations for the Francis Center. For more information, contact Towner at 503-794-3980 or [email protected]
