Priests and deacons enjoy a dinner provided by Serra Club.
The Serra Club of Portland last month hosted an annual appreciation dinner honoring priests, deacons and men religious.
More than 70 clergy and guests attended the event at the Double Tree Lloyd Center. The dinner was hosted by 45 Serrans, including two from the Salem-Keizer Serra Club.
The evening started with a cocktail and appetizer social with piano music in the background provided by Arletta O’Hearn from St. Pius X Parish.
The group seemed to enjoy the opportunity to spend time together and Serrans took the opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and service. Dinner followed.
Ken Harris, Serra Club President, welcomed all in attendance and introduced Archbishop John Vlazny to share a few remarks. The Serrans wished Archbishop Vlazny an early happy birthday and sang “Happy Birthday” to him.
