Gore should go vegan

To the Sentinel:
Al Gore is getting a lot of heat from global warming skeptics in the wake of news reports that he profits from the environmental policies he supports. But PETA has a different beef with the so-called carbon billionaire: He continues to eat meat, eggs, and dairy products even though the livestock sector is the No. 1 cause of climate change.
Raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases than all the cars, trucks, trains, ships, and planes in the world. Refusing meat is the single most effective thing you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.
If Mr. Gore is really serious about saving the planet, he should face the “inconvenient” truth and go vegan.
