A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals July 23 reversed a lower court ruling that had granted some pro-life pharmacists at a Ralph's grocery store pharmacy in Washington state the right on religious grounds to refuse to stock emergency contraception or fill such prescriptions.

Msgr. Frank Campbell dies
Msgr. Frank Campbell, 89, died last week. Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced. Msgr. Campbell had served as principal of Central Catholic; pastor of St. Mary Magdalene, St. Mary Cathedral, and St. Edward, North Plains; and chaplain to St. Mary of the Valley, Beaverton.

“Who am I to judge?”  These may well be the most often quoted words of our Holy Father, Pope Francis.  They were delivered during an informal interview given by the Pope.  These words have very often been taken out of context and used to imply the Holy Father’s support for all sorts of things, most notably the gay lifestyle and even same-sex “marriage.”

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Aloha celebrated Father Louie Urbanski’s 77th birthday, a poignant occasion because the good-natured priest has been reassigned this summer after 14 years at the parish. He’s been reassigned to St. Edward, North Plains.
