MEXICO CITY — A prison riot in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey has claimed 52 lives, offering another example of the problems plaguing Mexico's prison system and casting a pall over the arrival of Pope Francis in the country.

Happiness is singing in the choir
LAKE OSWEGO — Mel Munch put off joining the choir at Our Lady of the Lake Parish until he was 94, in 2007. His wife had objected to the Wednesday night rehearsals and the getting to church an hour early on Sundays.
