CHARLESTON, S.C. — Bishop Robert Guglielmone of Charleston asked for prayers for the families of those killed as well as for those whose homes were destroyed in what officials called a 1,000-year storm that brought extreme rains that deluged South Carolina.
SAINT BENEDICT – Benedictine Father Thomas Thien Dang, a monk of Mount Angel Abbey, passed peacefully to the Lord on Oct. 6 after a prolonged illness. He was 52 years old. A Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m., and the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the Abbey Church.

MOUNT ANGEL – The Benedictine Sisters of Mount Angel invite the public to an hour-long ecumenical Taizé Prayer Service at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18, at the Queen of Angels Monastery Chapel at 840 S.
