Michael Joseph Dooney died Oct. 19. He was 66.
Mr. Dooney was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Portland to Jack and Mary Claire Dooney, and was a graduate of St. Stephen Grade School, Jesuit High School and Gonzaga University. He received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence at University of San Francisco Law School. After passing the Oregon Bar, he worked as a deputy district attorney in Clatsop County and went on to establish a private law practice in Seaside, where he continued to practice law until the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Lisa; children, Mary Claire, Maggie, John and Tommy Dooney, Gearhart; brothers, Patrick Dooney, Jewell, John (Donna) and Brian (Shawny) Dooney, Hillsboro; sisters, Sheila Boyd, Maureen Dooney (Jim Mosley) and Kathleen Dooney Foster (Cliff Foster), Hillsboro and Marron Dooney (Jim Miller), Portland; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Seaside. Recitation of the rosary will precede the Mass at 10:30 a.m.
