Francis McKay died Oct. 24. He was 91.
Mr. McKay was born Nov. 29, 1920, in St. Paul to Arthur and Grace McKay. He served during World War II, and then established Francis McKay Logging Company in the Pacific Northwest, logged internationally with Evergreen Helicopters, started a productive farm near Gerlach in Hualapai Flat, Nev., and founded McKay Drilling in Reno, Nev.
He is survived by his wife Velma; six children, Marilyn, Barbara, Ron (Ann), Gordon (Barrie), Steve (Kristi) and Diane (Ross); 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters in Portland: Agnes, Mary and Nellie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
