Condoning their sin is no favor
Catholic News Service
Inez Folsom of Beverly, Mass., demonstrates in favor of same-sex marriage outside the Massachusetts statehouse in Boston in 2006.
To the Catholic Sentinel:
This is a response to the letter by Harvey Thoennes on same sex marriage:
False compassion is not showing love for our neighbors — it is condoning and allowing them to remain in their sin. And, if they should die in mortal sin, they would be subject to God’s judgment. I think you know what that punishment would be.
So, there can be no such thing as a homosexual marriage because marriage was instituted by God. God instituted marriage so he could populate the world through his divine design of one man and one woman uniting in the conjugal act.
Same sex partners are “incapable” of that type of union and therefore “against God’s plan from the beginning of all creation.”
