MEDFORD — The boys from St. Mary's here year two under head coach Braden Benton. The Crusaders will have an entirely different look as they lost six players from last year’s squad – including four starters.

Leading this year’s campaign are 2012 Southern Cascade League all-star wings Kade Benton and Ryan Ross. Other key returners are guards Renzo Marchini, Glenn Alvarez, Michael Gambee, Zach Lewis and Sam Becker. Filling out the roster are two international students — Cameron Li and Alex Chen as well as a foursome of freshman: Eli Conway, Connor Vinyard, Kele Eaton and Michael Crennen.

Benton is very optimistic about the future of Crusader Basketball. Participation is the highest it has been in several years with 32 players — enough for a JV2 team to help develop skills and provide more playing time. Part of this new wave of energy is 14 freshman and nine international players.
