Fr. Robert Krueger presides at Mass during ACCW meeting.
Father Robert Krueger in September offered Mass at the district meeting of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. In his homily, Father Krueger addressed the Gospel story in which Pharisees reproach the hungry disciples for plucking grains of wheat on the Sabbath. Jesus reminded the Pharisees that King David gave even bread from the temple to his followers. Father Krueger pointed out that Jesus understands that the stresses of life affect behavior.
The meeting closed with prayers for peace, in union with Pope Francis and all of the leaders of the Catholic Church.
The archdiocesan council invites all Catholic women and their guests to their annual retreat Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Our Lady of Peace Retreat House, Beaverton. Father John Henderson will lead the retreat with reflections on the Year of Faith. A $35 registration fee covers lunch and conferences; send to Sue Anker, 13000 NE Pacific Ct., Portland, OR 97230 or contact 503-252-2574 or ACCW email@example.com.
