To the Catholic Sentinel:

On June 22, I participated in the Sunday Parkways in North Portland.  I participated not as a cyclist, but as a pedestrian.

Although I had a wonderful time, what frustrated me was the presence of rude, arrogant cyclists who believed that Sunday Parkways is a “cyclists-only club.”  I was told off at least half-a-dozen times by cyclists who told me to keep to the sidewalk.

I am writing this to ask all fellow pedestrians join me on July 27 for the Northeast Portland Sunday Parkways to prove to such cyclists that Sunday Parkways is not only for cyclists, which is the point we will try to prove. If you are a cyclist who believes Sunday Parkways is for everyone, you are welcome to join pedestrians on July 27.
