To the Catholic Sentinel:

The omission of  Blessed Pope Pius XII for consideration of sainthood brings to the forefront the politics of sainthood.  Our holy men, Popes John Paul and John XXIII, deserve a tribute that demonstrates truth, not efforts to facilitate  public judgment based upon lies.  Pius XII elevated John Paul to bishop.  Significant endeavors attributed to John XXIII are Pius’ achievements.

The news service story, “Pope meets with Rome’s Jewish community,” fails to dispel the notion of Hitler’s Pope.  Yet reputable primary sources tell another story. I am especially aware of these issues as a historian and Pius XII sainthood advocate.  My research and writing speak to these concerns.
