Bishop Liam Cary
Bishop Liam Cary
To the Catholic Sentinel:

I wish to add to the qualities that Bishop Liam Cary brings to the Baker Diocese.

I was a parishioner in his parish, Sacred Heart, Medford, for 13 years, and I know and respect him as one of the most holy priests in our archdiocese. His chief priority, after working to save our souls, is his devotion to the sanctity of human life. With his own limited funds, he began the construction of a home for unwed mothers, The Madeleine House. Many young women have saved their babies because of his generosity and compassion.

On Jan. 22, Father Cary was always out on the street with us, praying for the end of abortion.

He constructed an adoration chapel with perpetual adoration, resulting in increased religious vocations from the parish. He established the Legion of Mary.

He made certain that the Blessed Ssacrament is in a place of honor, behind the new altar, depicting the “Lamb of God.” He also provided the American flag and the papal flag at the altar.

His mastery of the Spanish language endeared him to the Hispanic community.
His kindness and compassion were so consoling to me when my youngest son, Seton, died. He stayed with my wife Joyce the whole day after my son died.
