TIGARD — Fifth graders at St. Anthony School in Tigard have been looking at what makes a good friend and seeing Jesus’ love in all of their relationships. In science, the students made a field trip to Yaquina Head and the OSU Marine Center on the Oregon Coast. Students will examine tide pools and dissect a squid.

Fourth graders are busy these days with adding and subtracting fractions and studying the rainforest. Each student is working on an Oregon report to be presented at the end of the April. The report includes an essay, making a covered wagon, dressing up like a pioneer or Native American and making a food item unique to Oregon.

Third graders have been working on their engineering unit with a local architect and are currently designing an entire city. They are also in the middle of their Portland Reports. Each student is researching the City of Roses and has chosen a specific bridge and landmark to share.
