OREGON CITY — As part of the centennial celebration of Mary’s apparition in Fatima, Portugal, students at St. John the Apostle School here have a giant rosary. Every student and teacher from the school — plus religious education students, catechists, and home school students — have written petitions for God through Mary’s intercession. Some of the petitions were placed in the rosary beads. The rosary was displayed in the church sanctuary and parishioners wrote their own petitions.
