During 2013, Father Francis Chun invites film fans to join in spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional discussions of cinema at St. Mary Cathedral in Northwest Portland.
During the Art of Cinema Series, Father Chun will facilitate discussions, rather than lecture on the films. Attendees are to watch the movie at home, then come prepared to their thoughts and reflections.

Cinema as a fine art can expand the mind and heart, Father Chun says, and when the mind and heart expand, the soul expands.

The sessions take place on Mondays, from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., in the Lower Cathedral Center. After viewing each film, participants should fill out a review form, which can be found at the church or on the parish website’s landing page,  maryscathedral.com. There will be no sessions in July and August.

The movies that will be discussed in 2013 are:
