Mike Chambers
Mike Chambers
Mike Chambers has been named principal. But "new" is not the word for him. He's been a teacher at Nativity since 2003.

Nativity, located in Northeast Portland, is a tuition-free middle school serving at-risk, low-income students. The school offers a challenging academic program that prepares students for college preparatory high schools.

Chambers is a 2003 Gonzaga University graduate. When he began his career at Nativity he was part of the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education, a teacher training program based at the University of Portland. In 2006, he began pursuing his administrative certificate and was offered the vice principal position in 2008. He will be replacing Jesuit

Father Jeff McDougall, who left the school to complete his tertianship, a step in Jesuit formation. Chambers is originally from Tacoma, Wash. and lives in Portland with his wife Kate and two young children.
