St. Anthony of Padua Church installed four Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant automated doors: two in the church and two in the parish hall.

“This has empowered many people who, before the doors were installed, were unable to enter the church on their own, or only with great difficulty or with the assistance of someone else,” said Father Pat Donoghue, pastor.

The doors were funded in part by a grant through the Archdiocese of Portland’s Safety First program. Parishioners donated the rest.

The doors were operational as of Oct. 10, and were blessed by Father Donoghue on the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
